Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State

Derek Rivers - 2017 NFL Draft

The Goods:

School: Youngstown State Position: DE Class: Senior Height: 6-4 Weight: 250 lbs Projected Draft Round: 4-6

Quick Quote:

“He’s big enough and strong enough that he can play a 4-3 end … More and more you’re seeing in the league 4-3  defensive ends in college and could even be productive  but don’t have the size and they’re moved to 3-4 linebacker and it’s hard to learn how to drop into coverage and come out of their breaks.” –Clif Marshall

Scouting Report:

A defensive end that has excellent skills dropping into coverage.  Normally, players like him in college would be considered either a 3-4 OLB prospect or a hand in the dirt 4-3 defensive end, but Rivers’ combination of skills makes him attractive to any team.
